Naas was identified and bought for Excelsus by Ian Currin at the Royal Show 2007, and was bred by our good friend Ed Barry. According to Fred Dell, Four-Feet Mako, Naas's sire, is one of the better breeding Simbra bulls in Natal. We brought Naas in for his ideal EBV's, dark red colouring , F3 status and favourable comments from Breed Examiners and breeders alike. A Deluxe grandson with a strong Metsibra grand dam, bred out of the well known UDM8848A, and bred out of Sonbri and Donkerbruin genetics, make this a new outcross for Excelsus. We are anxiously awaiting his first calves, but it would appear that he would breed well on the more Brahman types, lending balance, breadth, colour and temperament.
