The first cattle were purchased in 1991 with the purchase and development of Rivera Farm in the Oranjeville district. The stud was registered in 1997 with Stoffel and Elise Saaiman managing the Studs. The Simbras started with the purchase of the Oramsus Stud and these were bred to Red, Manso and Gyr Bulls. In the year 2000 Graeme and Margi Currin took over the Studs with the aim of breeding pure bred Simbras.
